Someone once said to me that “Wellness or Health is not merely the absence of pain, but also, the presence of JOY.

Does anyone feel like it’s a JOYous day today?  Are you full of JOY this afternoon?  How often do you hear someone say “JOYous.” “Wonderful” “Fantastic” when you ask “How are you?”.  How long do your JOYous moments stick with you?

Think of what it is that keeps you from having JOY.

Are you stressing? why?

Are you in pain?

Are you overwhelmed? Underpaid? Overworked? Under appreciated?

Are you hurt? jealous? nauseous?

Are you being held back?

Are you worried?

Are you dissatisfied? Overweight? Tired all the time? Sick all the time?

Are you, your own worst enemy?

For thirty years young, I have had enough learning, tragedy, growth, opportunity, failure and success than most people have by the time they retire.  Definitely not all by choice.  Some by “the grace of God” or Karma, if you prefer, by chance, by hard work…..etc…

In all of this, the one thing (one of the major things) that has stuck with me, is that I am OFTEN my own worst enemy.  I am often caught up in the circle of negativity, dissatisfaction, exhaustion and lack of growth or movement wondering when  it’s going to stop spinning me round and round.  I started it with “I can’t do this”, “it’ll never work”, “Just another hour, then I’ll sleep”, “I don’t feel like cooking, lets have ::insert fast food here::” and it carried into cravings for empty food, bags under my discolored eyes, failure at a new business, job, or interview, etc…

STOP telling yourself you can’t do it, and start with, “Lets give it a shot!”

Take the extra time to take care of yourself, because if you don’t; there are few times and fewer people that will do it for you.

Don’t get me wrong with this blog….I am not preaching (okay, sometimes I will), I am not forcing, I am not in your shoes, I am not the end all fix all.  But I am (right, most of the time) going to shed light on the path.

Show you the joy  at the end of the tunnels.  You choose which ones you care about changing, which ones apply to you, which ones you’re ready to hear, and which ones are not too crazy and you will see.

Remember, Living with change and  creating new habits, requires breaking old habits and that my friend, is NOT SO EASY.

There is no easy button to doing a U-turn.  Easy comes when you’re back on the JOY path hitting cruise control.

Pick and choose what  you’re ready for.  Good luck.
